Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Our thoughts, not external events, create our moods.

Susan Hansen uses the most current Cognitive Behavioral Techniques in a sociological perspective to guide you through the rethinking of your current relational concerns.

We all get stuck in patterns of thinking that lead us into depression, anxiety, marital conflict and obsessiveness. It’s about taking a fresh, often simplified look at the way we explain the situations around us.

Susan has worked successfully with adults with mild to severe relational problems as well as diagnosable depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. Susan specializes in newly married, divorced and more mature couples dealing with growing pains, the heartache of infidelity as well as couples dealing with chronic illness, life disappointments, and loss.

Susan Hansen has studied with colleague Dr. Arthur Freeman at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). Dr. Freeman is the International author of 63 books dealing with the subject of Cognitive Behavioral Therapies.

Susan Hansen specializes in working with relationships by combining wisdom from research in a friendly professional setting.

GOTTMAN LOGOThe Gottman Method

Susan is very excited to have attended training at the Gottman Institute in Seattle. The Gottman Method is based on 35 years of scientific research this has allowed therapists to see patterns form in both the “Masters” and “Disasters” of relationships. Understanding these patterns is the foundation of “The Sound Relationship House Theory”.
Susan will teach you effective strategies to strengthen relationships and improve intimacy and closeness.

A Note to Physicians

Please consider a referral before medication treatment for a complete psychosocial assessment of your patient. Susan prefers to evaluate clients before any psychotropic medication is started so I can get an accurate base line evaluation of mental status. Susan’s effort is to repeat mood scales to provide you with evidence-based evaluation of improved functioning.

Please give Susan a call for more information of these easy to use scales that you can use as a clinical tool in your office to provide clinically valid information of progress in treatment
